Before leaving, Kazuya asks for Mai to come with him. This discussion puts off Mai’s friends from telling ghost stories with Kazuya. Kuroda claims that the place is haunted by spirits who died in a war and that the building used to be a hospital. She is then interrupted by Kazuya, who asks if she senses anything in the abandoned building near the school. As a self-proclaimed psychic, she berates them for telling ghost stories, because it makes spirits gather and causes her headaches. Their conversation is overheard by their fellow classmate: Kuroda. When class ends, Mai’s friends are surprised to see her uninterested in meeting up with Kazuya.

Frazzled, Mai runs off to school hoping to never return to the abandoned place. Kazuya asks for Mai’s name and informs her that she’s going to be late for class. Mai tries offering her hand to help Lin, only to have it slapped away by the injured man. Kazuya then turns up to help his colleague, Lin, and asks for the closest doctor. The next thing she knows the camera is broken with a man crushed underneath the bookcase. A figure dashes up and shoves her out of the way. She bumps into a bookcase, which then falls towards her. Suddenly, a voice calls out and startles her. Mai enters the building, wondering to herself out loud why such a thing would be in an abandoned place. Curious, she looks in the window and sees a high-tech camera set up inside. The next day, Mai is walking to school when she passes by the cursed building. Her friends invite Kazuya to tell ghost stories with them tomorrow after school, much to Mai’s displeasure. Mai’s friends are immediately enamoured with the good-looking individual, but Mai has her doubts and finds him suspicious. When the lights come on, they see that the voice came from a handsome young man who calls himself Kazuya.
